In week two of our Advent series entitled “Christmas Playlist, we talked about the timeless classic “O Little Town of Bethlehem”. The familiar carol reminds us of the real story of Jesus’ birth, in a humble place whose significance was foretold long before it happened. The lyrics paint Bethlehem as a quiet, simple town that becomes the center of God’s promise of peace and hope brought through Christ, inviting us to see beyond seasonal tradition to the faithfulness of God’s plan unfolding over time. It reminds us that the light of Christ shines into our world, offering salvation and calling us to live in surrender to God’s purpose in our lives. We can sing these words not just as a Christmas tradition, but as a heartfelt prayer that God’s presence and peace would shape how we live today.
